Hi, I'm Jen.

I have a passionate interest in the human embodied experience — the way our bodies hold stress, tell stories, and quietly (and not so quietly!) ask for attention long before we’re ready to listen.

I live in Olympia, WA, at the edge of the tidal Salish Sea and within reach of the towering old growth forests of the Pacific Northwest — two landscapes that have shaped how I think about healing. Old growth trees don’t rush; they grow slow, deep, and resilient, season after season. The tides move the same way — patient, rhythmic, always returning. I’ve come to believe bodies heal in much the same manner: not by force, but by being met with patience and given space to find their own natural rhythm again. That’s the spirit behind Old Growth Healing Arts, and it’s the same grounded, unhurried presence I bring into every session.

I’ve been practicing bodywork here for more than two decades, helping hundreds of people reduce stress, decrease pain, improve function, and feel more at home in their own skin. I’m always studying — deepening my understanding of injury treatment, chronic pain, and the mind-body connection — so the care I offer keeps growing right alongside the people I work with. Every body has its own rhythm and its own pace of healing, and after twenty years, listening for that rhythm is still the heart of what I do.

When I’m not in my studio, you’ll likely find me living out that same rhythm — riding the tides on my paddleboard, picking out slow tunes on my banjo, talking (and listening!) to the trees, or curled up with my dog Hazel and a good book. It’s the same pace I try to bring into the treatment room: unhurried, present, and willing to let things unfold the way they need to.
